On 18 September 2025, The New Factory officially introduced COPPO at the LSE Generate X Jakarta Investment Festival, a platform that brings together innovators, investors, and leaders in the creative and sustainable industries.
We presented COPPO as a new alternative material made from shredded textile waste, compressed through an R&D process we’ve been developing since early this year. This material is designed to address the challenge of fashion waste that can no longer return to the apparel industry, transforming it into solid boards that can be used for furniture, retail product displays, and interior elements.
COPPO received a warm and enthusiastic response from the festival attendees, many of whom appreciated the initiative for offering a tangible, scalable solution to textile waste while opening new possibilities for material innovation.
Our participation in the festival marks an important moment to showcase that textile waste holds economic potential as well as strong design value. Through COPPO, The New Factory aims to open wider conversations about material-based solutions that are sustainable, scalable, and relevant for both creative and commercial industries.
The New Factory will continue to advance research and collaboration to develop COPPO into an even stronger, more refined material ready to be used by more brands and companies committed to environmental responsibility.
