ReLOVE in Action: Turning Production Waste Into Purpose

OVERVIEW

When Exsport launched their new in-store campaign, they wanted the visual experience to reflect their core message a journey of renewal through #reLOVE. To bring this vision to life, they collaborated with The New Factory to incorporate COPPO, our upcycled solid panel made from Exsport’s own production waste, as part of their product display.

This project marks Exsport’s first application of COPPO in retail display design, demonstrating how discarded materials can return with new value becoming an aesthetic, functional element that strengthens the narrative of a more circular future.

CHALLENGE

Exsport faced a growing volume of leftover production waste — small offcuts that were too tiny to be turned into new products, even the smaller ones. Yet, staying true to their #reLOVE campaign, it was essential that any material used for their store display came from their own waste stream.

The challenge was to transform these irregular, unusable remnants into a visually cohesive material that fit naturally within the Exsport store environment and reinforced their commitment to circularity.

solutions

To address Exsport’s challenge, The New Factory transformed their small, unused textile offcuts into COPPO panels, a solid upcycled material designed specifically for visual displays. By chopping and compressing Exsport’s own production waste, we created a cohesive, durable panel that could be integrated seamlessly into their in-store campaign setup.

COPPO’s unique speckled texture and color composition highlight the character of Exsport’s waste materials, turning what was once unprocessable scraps into an eye-catching display element. This solution not only aligns with Exsport’s #reLOVE narrative but also shows how waste can be redesigned into a functional, aesthetically strong component for retail environments.
